This year I decided to make my childrens costumes. My youngest daughter, Katie, age 4, was pretty much a surprise to us. We weren’t expecting to have anymore children, but are so lucky to have had her. She is our perfect little present.
This year for Halloween, that is exactly what she is. Her gift box costume was simple. Just take a square cardboard box. Cut the bottom out, then cut arm holes and a hole to fit the head through. Wrap in colorful paper and attach a bow on the top of the child’s head. I couldn’t find a bow big enough, so I made this one out of two spools of wired ribbon. Then I attached a gift tag on the front of the box which said Happy Birthday. To: You Love: Katie.
Everyone loved it and she just looked so cute!
Thanks for sharing your ideas! Your article gave me a great idea about how to make the same costume for my child who will be appearing as a gift box in her class presentation next week. With the help of your practical suggestions, I’m sure my Gabby would look as good as your Katie does in the picture.
