Our 7 yr daughter loves the movie UP and came up with this Girl’s Up! Costume idea all on her own. She had wanted to do something with balloons (who doesn’t like balloons? :) and after watching the movie she shouts “I know, I know” and off we went.
She had a blast shopping for supplies and building it with her Dad. It’s made mostly of a box & cardboard and colored foam sheets which were glued on. It took about 2 weeks working off and on. Her Granny also sewed her the cloud/sky outfit out of fleece so it would look like she was floating.
My husband cut down a PVC pipe and drilled a screw threw it and anchored it inside the chimney to attach the balloons to it. She was a huge hit in her Girl’s Up! Costume and says she wants to keep it forever! :)
