My three year old is still at that fun age where I can convince her to be anything, which is great cause I know I won’t be able to in a few years. I started this grapes DIY Halloween costume idea by looking for purple pants and a long sleeved shirt. I also found some purple knit gloves. I wanted shoe covers too, so I bought two pieces of purple felt – I got her shoes and pinned them to the sole and started cutting out the hole where her foot goes. I then trimmed them and sewed the two sides. I hand sewed some elastic on the heal and toe of the shoe to make them stay on.
I bought two bags of purple balloons. I didn’t blow them up very much and then safety pinned them only to the shirt, to make bathroom breaks and getting it off to play games easy. We also made her head a grape by painting her face purple and used purple hairspray in her hair. The finishing touch was a headband that I hot-glued green felt leaves and a sewed and stuffed a brown felt stem on. It was very fun, and she loved it!
