My son decided he wanted a Homemade Haunted House Costume. It was a family project to create. We got two cardboard boxes and cut one apart. We used the cut apart one to create the roof. We sewed it on with string. Then we spray painted it black. We added a chimney out of cardboard and painted it. My husband added lighting at the top inside of roof to shine down on my son and a door bell that lights up. We then added black crow, and huge spider to roof. We used felt to create windows and doors. We then decorated the house with spider webbing that we got from Walmart. We used hot glue to get everything to stay in place. We put danger tape and sign on back of costume along with skull. We decorated sides with skeleton garland. My son wore a dracula mask to top off the costume.
A extra feature of this costume is that he can walk in it or sit down and it actually sits on ground and looks like miniature house.
