My daughter wanted to be a Zombie but she also wanted to be a Barbie too. I thought I would put the two together and see what happened. This Homemade 2009 Halloween Edition Barbie “Zombie” turned out great!
I made her a Barbie box out of a huge Dixie cup box and lined it with masking tape and primer. I spraypainted Barbie pink with two coats and let her dry. I printed off the MATTEL sign and used a red sharpie to color it in. I next printed off Barbie logos, cut them out, colored them in and used glue sticks to apply them to the right places. I used an exacto knife to cut out the cardboard and used plexiglass, applying it inside with a hot glue gun to give it that Barbie box appeal.
For my daughter’s makeup I used blue, white, green, and grey for the base on her arms and face. I used purple, black, and blue for her eyes and used cornstarch and glue for scabs. Red food-coloring, gelatin and cornstarch were used to make her fake blood.
My daughter’s hair is brown, so I got her a blonde wig and put in pink highlights. She wore a black shirt and tights and I made her a skirt with black and pink tulle. It was a great Barbie “Zombie” Halloween costume.
