The housewives of Bedrock & their cavemen hubbies!
I like to think of us as the new-age Flintstones & Rubbles since our guys are all tatooed up.

I made these Homemade Bedrock Group Costumes for my boyfriend and I, and for his sister and her boyfriend. We were the coolest Wilma, Fred, Betty and Barney. It was also great going out together as couples.

Since I could not find any specific patterns for these costumes, I just improvised and drafted my own from some regular clothing patterns I had. We bought wigs online; these were the only things not handmade. All the fabric and costume accessories were from Joanns. Here’s more of a breakdown:

Fred’s costume consisted of an orange fleece garment with black felt pieces sewn on. He wore a teal taffeta tie and died his hair black for the occasion!

Wilma wore a white stretch satin dress with a pearl necklace, stuffed by hand.

Barney’s costume was a brown fleece garment with a black leather “x”.

Betty wore a blue stretch matte satin dress with a large white button on the front attached to a black suede neck piece. She had a handmade blue bow for the hair.

We received tons of compliments on Halloween night and had our pictures taken with random people! The only thing that could have made it better was if we had had our own Pebbles & Bam-Bam. Well, maybe in a few years time!

Anyway, it’s time to start planning for next year’s costumes!
