Homemade Beetlejuice and Lydia Costumes

Halloween is my favorite holiday. However my fiance’ said he would only dress up with me if he liked the costume. So it came down to a homemade Beetlejuice and Lydia costume.

I purchased a black negligee from Salvation Army and painted a spider web on the front with fabric paint. I bought 2 pairs of red fishnet stockings and cut one pair to fit my arms and wore the other on my legs. I had an old black Indian wig from a previous year.

My fiance’s costume is actually a women’s white pant suit from Salvation army. I took it out on our driveway, duct taped it with stripes then spray painted it black, flipped it over and did the back side too. The only thing I bought at a Halloween store is his wig, for $9. And I teased it with a comb and hairspray.

I got my plastic jewelry from salvation army and a piece of fabric from Wal-mart and sewed it around an old head band for my veil. We won 1st place and a bucket of beer for that costume!
