My daughter, Cate, is 15 months old and is STILL at that lovely age when you can dictate WHAT they will be for All Hallow’s Eve, unlike her older 4 year old brother, HA! So, there were SOOO many cute costumes that I had in mind for her/us. However, when I received Pottery Barn’s Fall Issue in the mail, advertising their Cupcake Costume, I FELL IN LOVE! TOO CUTE! But, their smallest costume size was a 2T which would NOT work for my girl, OR me! But I knew that I had found our costume idea and so, I totally ran with it!
I had some old tutus in our Halloween Dress-Up Tote that I decided to vamp up and use as the frosted pink “Top-Part” of our Cupcakes, which I embellished with confetti, (I cut out circles from felt, which I then hot-glued sporadically onto the tutus). I used a white “tennis skirt” as our Cupcake Wrappers.
My daughter had the CUTEST pink and white leg warmers to keep her legs warm for the Trick-or-Treating festivities! I then topped us off with a single birthday candle headband! Underneath, my daughter had a cupcake embellished on her bloomers! It was truly such fun to make our Homemade Birthday Cupcakes Costumes! My husband dressed up as “The Baker”!
