Well, this Blind Melon Bee Girl Costume is the costume I made for last year’s Halloween, and while I was looking for ideas on coolest homemade costumes I found someone else who also have made this costume, so I thought well if she submitted it me too jajajaja.
It’s really easy to make, really I just bought a yellow leotard at Walmart, black pantyhose, black nylon for the hat and the pseudo-sleeves on the arms, black organdy tulle for the skirt and lots of yellow ribbon. For an extra touch I sewed black sequins at the leotard for the lines on the chest instead of using black ribbon.
For the hat and the pseudo-sleeves I didn’t have a pattern I just made it by taking measures of my body and using logic. After you cut the fabric, you have to sew the yellow ribbons, then you sew the whole thing together. It took three layers of tul to make the skirt and is also easier if you sew the yellow ribbon at the hem before you sew it all together.
I made this costume because it represents my love for the 90’s. No Rain has been one of my favorites song since my childhood so I was really happy.
