I had first suggested dressing as a Barbie Doll in a Box. But with my daughter Janelle now 8 1/2, in her eyes she has passed the Barbie stage and now prefers her Bratz Dolls. So now the plain pink box that was planned has now evolved into a theme styled Bratz Packaging.
So we found a Brats Cat Costume. I got some cardboard boxes from work, measured the card to my daughter’s height and glued it all together with my glue gun and heavy duty glue sticks and reinforced inside with duct tape. We found some Bratz costume pictures on the internet and the Bratz Logo. Painted the box with Fall and Halloween colors. I painted the black shadow tree on the front and back along with the haunted house on the back.
The spiders on the front, the bats and ghosts on the back are 3D plastic rubber toys that were glued on. Painted the Bratz Logo on the front and back. Most Dolls come with accessories so we added a masquerade mask and false eyelashes. Put a Halloween banner across the front. BUT WHEN WE ADDED THE BARCODE ON THE BACK IT SEEMED TO PULL IT ALL TOGETHER. I added plastic pull ties through the back to secure a belt to attach the box to her and two more pull ties on each side as handles.
Finally I cut the front about 12 inches up from the bottom so when she walked or went up the stairs it allowed for some movement. It was a hit with the teachers, friends and the whole school. She wants to wear it again next year with a different style Bratz costume.
WOW What a great idea. I like when people can take a general idea and elaborate and build something new. Good Job
