I was not planning on dressing up this year but then, at the last minute, decided I would be a woodland fairy which would have been easy enough: a little green netting, a wreath in the hair, a wand etc. However, as the day wore on, I decided to revert to my staple costume, which is a witch, but I could not find any of my hats. Seeking to improvise, I caught sight of my cobra mask which I had bought at the zoo last summer.
The headgear is a petticoat or tutu slipped around my head, using the waistband as a headband and tied with black ribbon to hold it and give it height. I wore a black outfit, suitable for the office or anywhere, and a black wide-sleeved silk satin robe, one of which is usually in every woman’s wardrobe. The scarves serendipitously matched the colors of the cobra head so I added them and voila! ‘The Bride of Voldemort’. I had achieved a homemade Bride of Voldemort Halloween costume!
The character of the witch bride of Voldemort is inspired by the character of Voldemort or ‘He who must not be named’ from the Harry Potter book series.
