Although the costume of Captain Jack Sparrow is not a new one, we wanted it to be as close as possible to the original for my 6 year old son. We checked a lot of stuff online and I decided to create a Homemade Captain Jack Sparrow Halloween Costume. I also watched the movie twice to note down all the details.
I bought one meter of blue velvet for the jacket, one meter of black velvet for the boot covers and 40 cm of red fabric for the head scarf. There was no suitable wig, so we bought a curly one, ironed it to make it straight and then plaited it. I disassembled, where possible, all jewelry found at home and bought the pistols and swords at the market. Some items such as the belts and compass were borrowed from relatives.
The mustache and part of the beard were just drawn with black pencil. The rest of the beard (the straggly plaits) was created from part of the wig. The total value of the costume was about $15 and it took a bit of time to get it perfect. Hope you will enjoy!
