Coolest Homemade Chapulin Colorado Superhero Halloween Costume Idea

This is a well-known character from a Mexican Sitcom show. He is a superhero named Chapulin Colorado. I created this homemade Chapulin Colorado Superhero Halloween costume idea for my husband by taking a red tee shirt with the Chaplin logo on the front. Next I purchased a red sweatshirt from a local thrift store, and used thin copper wire (poked it through the fabric of the sweatshirt) and pipe cleaners for the antennae. I hot-glued yellow and red pom-poms to the top of the antennae. To help the antennae to stand straight up, I safety pinned the hood under his chin for a tighter fit.

Next we bought red opaque tights to wear under bright yellow shorts. The shorts are nylon basketball style shorts with about 3 inches of length cut off of them. I used red cotton fabric to make grasshopper wings and sewed those on the back of the yellow shorts. Lastly, we found the shoes at a local thrift store, and hand dyed the shoelaces yellow to match the outfit.
