Coolest Homemade Cheeseburger Kids Halloween Costume Idea

I started this Homemade Cheeseburger Kids Halloween Costume Idea by looking for a large piece of foam to provide the puffy circular shape of the bun, but the local craft stores didn’t have a big enough size. Instead I used the foam from an old couch cushion. I cut it in half to get the proper thickness and then shaped it into two large circles for the bottom of the bun and the top. I then bought a brown twin sized flat sheet from Walmart for $4 and cut that in half. I used it and a hot glue gun to wrap up the foam and create the bun. I bought a bottle of beige craft paint and sponged that onto the bun to give it a more realistic look.

Light brown felt was used for the sesame seeds. Then yellow felt was used to cover the inside of the bun on either side towards my daughter. I made sure to allow for extra felt to hang off each side to look like cheese. Next, I took a cheap green plastic table cloth and cut foot long sections. I gathered the sections and hot glued it to the bun to look lettuce. I then took little pieces of wired red ribbon and glued them on to look like ketchup dripping onto the bun. Lastly, I attached brown ribbon to the inside of both sides of the bun. I put Velcro on the ribbon and on a brown shirt for my daughter to wear to prevent the costume from slipping. She also wore a pair of brown leggings.

For her shoes I just used more section from the plastic table cloth and gathered them up with a twist tie. Then I used to ties to attach her little bits of lettuce to her shoes. For her hair, I attached another twist tied section of lettuce to a plain barrette.

Total I spent about 12 dollars on the entire costume.
