Coolest Homemade Clockwork Orange Couple Costume

My cousin was having a Heroes and Villains party and we decided to go as Alex DeLarge from A Clockwork Orange. Originally Scott was going to go as Alex and I was going as a droog, but we thought it would look better if we both went as Alex. I’d never seen the film but thought the Clockwork Orange Couple Costume looked cool and quite easy to do. Of course I made sure I watched the film before the party!

We had a great night and met some die hard Kubrick fans who loved the costumes, not everyone knew who we were, but that was good as well as it made for a good ice breaker.

Scott’s Costume:
Bowler Hat – £18.00 Afflecks Palace Manchester
White granddad shirt – £10.00 H&M
White Jeans – £15.00 H&M
Braces – £5.00 Fancy Dress in Affleck’s
Cane – £6.00 Fancy Dress Affleck’s
Cod Piece / Groin Guard £2.99 Martial arts store eBay
Boots – Own work boots
False Eyelashes – £2.50 Affleck’s
Total £59.49

My Costume:
Bowler Hat – £18.00 Afflecks Palace Manchester
White granddad shirt – £8.00 Primark
White Joggers- £10.00 River Island (in the sale)
Braces £5.00 Fancy Dress in Affleck?s
Cod Piece / Groin Guard £2.99 Martial arts store eBay
Boots – Own boots
False Eyelashes – £2.50 Affleck’s
Total £46.49

Not the cheapest of costumes, but its all investment in the fancy dress box! We probably could have made it cheaper if we’d gone to charity shops for the clothes, but we didn’t have time.

If you buy braces online make sure you don?t go for the cheapest, I did and they were rubbish so ended up having to buy more. For the eye we used false eyelashes as this is what he wears in the film. (I’ve included a separate picture of the cod pieces as they don’t stand out that well in the picture).
