Coolest Homemade Coca-Cola Can Costume

For this Homemade Coca-Cola Can Costume, we went to Target and found a collapsible laundry hamper that would fit my daughter in it. We brought it home and cut an X shape in the center of the bottom. I had her try it on and we measured where the arm holes would go, and cut X’s there, too.

With these simple cuts we made the base for the costume. We got some shiny red and metallic silver fabric from a fabric store, and while we were there we bought some clear fabric glue as well. We covered the hamper in red fabric and glued it down, then re-cut the holes for the arms. We cut a circle out of the silver and glued it to the top and re-cut that hole, too.

We downloaded a Coca-Cola font from a website into Word, and typed in the letters as big as they would go. We also printed the “classic” letters in a different font. We cut all those letters out and pinned each one to the silver fabric, then cut out the silver letters. We glued all those onto the can and it really started to come together. The whole letters step was the most time consuming part. My daughter free handed the swish and glued it on under the letters.

Using the leftover silver, we covered an old headband to make the finishing touch. This costume really impressed her friends at school, and the neighbors trick-or-treating!
