Coolest Homemade Cool Runnings Group Costume

This year, we thought it would be funny to go as the Homemade Cool Runnings Group Costume. We used 5 big boxes of equal size and took out the top and the bottom. As there were 4 members on the bobsled team, there was a box for each person and an extra box to fashion the point at the front.

After making them sturdier with tons of duck tape, we painted all the boxes black and decorated them with red, black, and green paint (Rasta colours). We used suspenders to hold up the boxes on each person, and used Velcro between each of the boxes so we could stay connected and pull apart as we wanted too, solely for convenience purposes. We even had the last guy in the back, who is supposed to be ‘Sanka’ in the movie, hold a hard boiled egg for good luck (as done in the movie). Everywhere we entered, we sang the song “Nuff people say they know they can’t believe, Jamaica have a bobsled team”.

This costume was tons of fun to make and even more fun to wear. We came first place in our local contest.
