As last year my son wanted to be Ryan Newman, this year he stuck with NASCAR and had a homemade Dale Jr Halloween costume idea. I had the pattern on-hand and made it one size bigger and in green and white instead of black and camo. I learned last year that the heavier fabric, canvas, would not accept iron-ons, so this year I printed out all the decals on regular paper for reference, then hand drew them on the fabric, and then painted them. Every decal or decoration is hand-drawn and hand-painted onto the fabric.
He was a hit at school with teachers, students and parents alike. It took a total of about a week and a half to complete the cutting out of the pattern, sewing of the pieces, drawing, and painting everything. I couldn’t be more proud of my little Jr.
