Halloween is my favorite holiday! Every year I try my best to come up with a creative homemade costume. There is nothing better than the feeling that you did it yourself!
This year my inspiration came from my favorite movie “Edward Scissorhands”. I thought I knew how I would bring his outfit together until I got to the hands!. To be Edward, I surprising wore everything I already owned, plus a few extra belts from Goodwill.
I started this Homemade Edward Scissorhands Halloween Costume with a black turtleneck, black shiny leggings and black combat boots. I gathered any studded belt that I would find. I wrapped one around my neck, a couple around my legs, three on my torso and another one weaved horizontally.
Now the challenging part: the Scissorhands. I cut out six pairs of scissors from foam board. I spray painted them silver and then painted the handles black. I then used electrical tape to attach them to black leather gloves. I placed them in between my fingers so I could still move and pick things up.
This costume was a big hit! My favorite ever! Hopefully this will give others the inspiration to be Edward. It was so much fun!
You looked amazing. like you i live for Halloween. have never missed going out. was going to purchase am Edward costume but thought they looked a lil cheap. so looking online inspired by your creativity…. Wish me luck.
