I got all of the materials at either the thrift store or the hardware store for this Flying Carpet Rider Costume. I started by cutting a hole in the carpet, then nailing it to a wooden frame. I made the frame a little shorter than the carpet so that it would ‘ripple.’
I then cut a hole in the butt of a pair of pants so that the legs would rest on top of the carpet, which I then stuffed with plastic grocery bags to make legs. I stapled the pants around the hole in the carpet so that it looked like the pants were ‘sitting’ on the carpet. The whole thing is held up with suspenders.
This is one of the most elaborate and creative costumes I’ve ever seen, such a neat idea!
Very cool! I love the overall idea and the detailed accessories!
Did you make the hat? Also, how did you attach the wooden board to the suspenders to hold it up?
Great costume!
How did you attach the suspenders to the carpet?
I clipped the suspenders to the frame and reinforced with duct tape.
