The Geico Money Halloween costume is all hand made. While walking around trick or treating, my son even had his own theme music!
It’s made from 2 sections of foam which I then painted green. Then I printed the large money on a Mylar type material. I glued them all together and wrapped the ribbons around the 2 sections of foam, gluing them down as well. The eyes are made from 2 paper plates covered with 2 clear plastic lids onto which I painted black pupils; I stood them up with 2 rulers and more glue. Finally, I strapped on a pair of suspenders for him to put over his shoulders.
He was spotted all over the neighborhood and people yelled “Woah, it’s the Geico Money” and they laughed when they heard his music. His little sister was the Geico Lizard (although her costume was store-bought). I put a portable CD player in her coach/stroller so, needless to say, by the end of the night we were sick of the song.
