I made this Homemade Ghostbusters Halloween Costume about 9 years ago. I’ve always loved Ghostbusters, and wanted a proton pack since the first time I saw it. This took me about 9-12 months to piece together. It has working lights in the pack, gun, and a blinking light on the trap just like the movie.
It is made from sheet metal, plywood, and cardboard mainly. And a lot of random junk from VCR’s, TV’s, computers, and half of radio shack. The proton pack’s 4 main lights are actually 4 individual booklights mounted inside. There is a red bar on the back that has a laser inside of it that makes it glow red when turned on. And also a few leds here and there.
The gun has 3 red leds, and also has a laser beam come out of the barrel when switched on. This looks especially cool in smokey bars. You can see the beam go across the room! The jumpsuit itself has a lot of odds and ends that were in the movie as well.
I hope everyone enjoys this as much as I enjoyed building it!
