We had a giant skull head windsock and my daughter didn’t have a costume so we came up with this idea for a Homemade Giant Grim Reaper Halloween Costume. We filled the windsock head with balloons and fastened it to a hard hat. We then secured the hard hat to her head and for the robe we took a graduation robe and placed balloons in the shoulders to raise the shoulders above her shoulders.
You are not able to see her face because she is wearing a black faceless mask that you can see through. My daughter is only 5 foot tall but with the addition of the head she became a towering 6 foot 5 inches.

Love this hub. My husband was the creative one who made all kinds of costumes for the kids from what we had on hand. He even made a parrot out of construction paper for their pirate year. (They got tired of me tossing sheets on them, cutting out eye holes and voila they were ghosts. In my defense, it was cold where we were then and they could wear their coats under the sheet!)
