After visiting Disney World our son wanted to be Mickey Mouse. I could not stand the pre-made costumes we found in store and online so I decided to make a Homemade Goofy and Mickey Mouse Costumes.
I got a pair of Minnie Mouse ears at the Disney store and removed the bow. I had a friend throw together the shorts out of some scrap red material. I used a black turtle neck shirt, black leggings (the soft cotton pants, not pantyhose type) and black socks. The shoes stumped me at first, but I found some yellow Crocs, they had Mickey Mouse heads for the holes and they were our son’s favorite shoes to wear any way. The gloves were found online at a marching band supply store.
My Goofy costume was a hat we got from Disney World, an orange shirt (I could not find an orange turtle neck at the time), some jeans, brown shoes and our same friend made a tiny vest that was perfect. I got as much attention as our son did on Halloween and he loved it, he would not call me dad, as long as I had the hat on.
