Coolest Homemade Gordon the Train Child Halloween Costume Idea

My 3 1/2 year old nephew is obsessed with Thomas the train and allllll of his friends. He and his brother were intent on being trains from the Thomas series… and after much deliberation he decided on Gordon, the express train. With the help of entries on this site I was able to see how some have approached the building of a train costume. I knew I wanted more detail, knowing it would be fully appreciated by this very wise train connoisseur, and so began my journey on this homemade Gordon the Train child Halloween costume idea! I made two trains the week before Halloween, they took hours… and by hours I mean DAYS. But the end results were precious and unforgettable! Taking them to my nephews and seeing their faces was such a joy. They truly lit up. They immediately started playing with them and driving them around the driveway.

Trick-or-treating only made it better… in the darkness hearing the “choo-choo” as they chugged to each house, and the light on candy givers faces to see these adorable engineers driving their trains. I must say the biggest compliment was the hand shakes from the dads as they saw the trains pass by. I knew I’d made both the train appreciator and costume builder communities proud. Happy Halloween!
