Coolest Homemade Head in a Freezer Halloween Costume

My daughter has always been something cute every year, and last year she wanted to be something scary! So we made her a “Homemade Head in a Freezer Halloween Costume”. I got a water heater box from Home Depot. Spray painted the box white after adding a freezer shelf and pocket for frozen veggies on the freezer door. I got the “Frigidaire” logo off the internet.

The door handles are cardboard covered with silver duct tape. We saved any frozen food containers, cleaned them out and hot glued them to the shelf, including 2 ice trays. On the front of the fridge door we hot glued magnets and a “fake” childs artwork. On the side of the fridge we had a phone number list (like a lot of us have on our own fridge). I also zip tied a Halloween trick or treat bag on the back of the fridge (since she couldn’t use her hands).

The make up was the fun part. I teased up her hair and applied white hair paint sparingly. And also used these cool crystals I found at the make up center of the Halloween party store which made her hair look really frozen. Once the make up was done, we put her head through the hole we had cut out in the freezer shelf. We applied the fake blood all around the white turtleneck and the shelf. And some coming out of her mouth.

I think it turned out great, she even scared some little kids in our neighborhood!!

  1. My son told me he wanted to b something gory with blood ooozzing lol! I was looking at costumes at the store and couldn’t really find anything that described what he wanted. I decided to look online for homemade gory and this was one of the first costumes to pop up. I told Richie that I had found an awesome costume and boy was he psych. We just started the project you failed to mention that spray paint soaks through the cardboard so we have to go get 4 more cans. Well thanks for the great idea I know he will win 1st place at his costume party at the bowling ally.
