Coolest Homemade Headless Anne Boleyn Costume

My Husband and I had been watching the TV Series, The Tudors, so, when it came time to decide on this year’s Halloween costumes, we were both quick to choose Henry the VIII and a headless Anne Boleyn.

I made a dummy body with insulation foam spray (sprayed into a cellophane lined tinfoil molded body form), foam pieces (for wrapping pipes in the winter) and a lot of duct tape and hot glue. I then taped it all to an old backpack, painted it and added jewelry made from old junk jewelry, beads, buttons and chandelier parts (for the crown, earrings and necklace).

I used air packs (for shipping) for the puffy upper sleeves and made a painted (to look bloody) foam and cheesecloth necklace. I draped the backpack using old dresses that I found at a thrift store and cut a hole in the front for my head to fit through, glued on some hand parts to the sleeves and sewed on an alligator clip to attach the arm to the dress below my head.

It looks uncomfortable to wear but, it was very light and the backpack acted as a headrest. This homemade headless Anne Boleyn costume was easy to make and cost around $35 for all the pieces. It was a big hit with our friends!!!

I am counting on some great inspiration from all of you to top it next year!
