Coolest Homemade Headless Boy Costume

My son wanted to be headless this year and I actually got the idea for a Homemade Headless Boy Costume from this site. I used lots of bubble wrap to keep it lightweight.

I took a longish rectangular box and put it in my son’s spare backpack. I then wrapped the box in bubble wrap. I rolled more bubble wrap for the arms. The top part of the arms is duct-taped to the original bubble-wrapped box to create the look of shoulders. I stuffed the gloves with fiberfill, put the cuffed end over the rolled bubble wrap and sewed it to the inside sleeves. The neck is an empty butter dish wrapped with brown tape, which I also used to secure it to the box.

I buttoned the top 2 buttons and all my son has to do is slip on the backpack. We then buttoned the bottom 2 buttons and pinned the hands together. I used white hairspray and white face paint to make him look ashen. I created dark circles under his eyes with brown eye shadow.

The entire thing took less than hour and cost me nothing to make.
