Everyone’s saying this Lady Gaga Meat Dress Costume is going to be the most popular costume of the year, right? Well since you can’t buy one…I had to make one! But no way I’m using real meat.
First, I made a corset dress out of red “pleather” vinyl and painted it to look like meat with acrylic. I then made “meat” pieces out of liquid rubber by tinting the mixture red. I scrunched up layers of plastic wrap, layed them on a table and poured the liquid rubber over it to create the meat-like texture. After they set, I attached all the pieces to the pleather with crazy glue. The shoes are a pair of old black boots that I cut off and painted like wrapped up meat. I topped off the look with a piece of rubber meat for a hat, a meat purse, painted wig, and Lady Gaga-esque bling.
