Coolest Homemade Mad Scientist and His Creations Costume

This year for Halloween, my 4 year old dressed up as a Mad Scientist and his 18 month old brother as the monster he created. I thought it would be fun to dress up to, so I went as Experiment X, the Mad Scientist’s failed experiment.

For the Mad Scientist costume, he wore some tan slacks, black shirt, and converse sneakers. I had to get a child’s lab coat and ghost buster goggles. He wore green sterile surgical gloves that I got from work. I spiked his hair crazy and sprayed it different colors. He also carried test-tubes that were filled with gummy candy body parts.

For his monster, I used black hair gel and green costume make-up. I got a green turtle-neck and cut holes and put some toy nuts and bolts through. He wore an old tuxedo that he had previously worn, a gray T-shirt and brown boots.

For my costume, the failed experiment, I had an old pair of scrubs covered in glow-in-the-dark paint. I painted my face, neck, arms, and hands with neon-green eye-shadow then covered it with glow-in-the-dark make-up. I curled my hair, then ratted it up and used a lot of aqua-net hairspray. I then sprayed it with glow-in-the-dark hairspray. In the dark I appeared radioactive.
