Coolest Homemade Mario Costume

This Mario Costume was fairly easy to make, super cute and fairly cost effective! I found the hat pattern online, went to the fabric store and bought 1/2 yard of red fleece (that’s enough to make 2 hats, cost me $8.99 on sale) then went to the Dollar store and bought fun foam in red and white that I made the crest out of and glued onto the hat (cost for fun foam $1.00 total).

For the overalls, I went to the thrift store and found some blue material. Paid $1.20 for 2 yards. I looked up a pattern for easy to sew pants online and then added a bib and straps I designed myself, then sewed on 2 yellow buttons. I had a red hoodie sweater already, bought a pair of white gloves at the thrift store ($0.50), a moustache at the dollar store ($1.00) and voila!

Easy, cheap, and a total hit! My son ran around with the hat on for a week before the Halloween party he was so excited.
