Coolest Handmade Medusa Costume

I started off this Medusa costume rounding up some rubber snakes, a wig, material for the skirt, some air brush paint, wire, and wire mesh.

First we made a skull cap out of the wire mesh that would fit my head underneath the wig, then we placed it inside the actual wig. Second we cut the snakes in half and ran wire through them so that we could mold them in positions that we liked, we left about 3 – 4 inches of wire sticking out of the snake so that we could run it through the wire mesh and lock the snakes in place. We then covered the hair and painted the snakes to our liking.

Once that was done we styled the hair and added gems to the eyes of the snakes. Lastly we took two snakes and formed them into the bikini top and added baking using the left over material from the skirt we made.

    • Tammy,
Where did you find the wig? I bought a red one – love the style, just not the color. I want to dye it but afraid to attempt it! Thx :)

  3. Hi! Where did you find the wig? I love the color. I bought a red one, but not happy with the color but am not having luck finding the style I want in a different color. I am considering dying it but very afraid to attempt this!
