Coolest Homemade Mister Peanut Halloween Costume

Every Halloween it is difficult to think of an original idea and homemade costumes are better than any costume you can buy in a store. SO this year I decided to make a Homemade Mister Peanut Halloween Costume and didn’t know where to begin.

My friend Kristen and I went to Jo-Ann Fabrics and found a piece of foam for the body of the peanut and yellow remnant fabrics that were perfect!! I laid down on the foam and we cut a peanut shape then a hole in the middle that my face could peek out of. Attaching the foam we just used cheap elastic then slipped it over my head. Fabric glue was the only thing that worked to keep the fabric on the foam.

For the gigantic hat we used cardboard and construction paper. That ended up being the hardest part making the hat. We had to add little details to make the peanut complete. The cane we found at another costume store, it was brown so we wrapped black electric tape around it.

For the shoes we used black patent leather shoes found at a thrift store with sleeves cut off of a shirt for the white covering over the shoes. A monacal which is not in the picture we used black wire and bent it into a circle shape and the peanut was a success!

Lots of compliments and Mr. Peanut is a costume to remember.
