Coolest Homemade Mr. T Halloween Costume Idea

If you grew up watching the A-Team, you know who Mr. T is! If not, you probably caught the A-Team movie that came out earlier this year… After coming up with the homemade Mr. T Halloween costume idea, I decided to look online to see if there were any pictures from anyone that might have done it before. After finding some pics, I figured I could go a little further with the costume… After I came up with the items I would need, most of them were easy to come by.

List of Items:

– Muscle Suit (local Halloween store)
– Tight red long-sleeve Starter shirt (Wal-Mart)
– Rugged looking camo pants ($4 from Goodwill)
– Black Combat army boots ($3 from Goodwill – Yes, $3!!!)
– Original 1980’s weight belt (eBay)
– Bald Cap (Halloween store)
– Women’s stocking
– Faux Fir for mohawk
– Facial Hair (Halloween store)
– Aviator Sunglasses
– Clip on earrings
– Foundation for black women
– LOTS & LOTS of Gold jewelry (Chains, Bracelets, Rings…)

This costume took a little time to get together, but was well worth the effort. After putting on the muscle suit, I chose a red long-sleeve shirt that would be tight enough to see all of the ripples in the suit. I found that the women’s foundation worked better than the brown Halloween face paint, because it was more even than the paint.

Trying to match the bald cap with the foundation on my face was the hardest part. At first, I wasn’t pleased with this, so I cut out a brown stocking and placed it over the latex cap. I then dabbed it all over with the foundation to try to get a uniform color.

For the mohawk, I purchased faux fir from Wal-Mart. This came in sheets, so I had to buy two sheets. I rolled up one, gluing it together as I went along and glued it to the bald cap for the mohawk section. For the rest, I traced a piece of paper around my head to get the outline and position of my ears. I then laid out the faux fir and cut it out before gluing it to the bald cap. For the rest, I just used some cheap facial hair that I picked up at the Halloween store…

As for the jewelry, I don’t even know where to start! I gathered this from places all over town (Wal-Mart, Goodwill, Halloween store, Forever 21, etc.). I just tried to find the biggest and most bulky jewelry that I could.

This costume was the hit of the night. I couldn’t make it 5 feet without hearing someone holler out “Mr.T”, “I pity the fool”, Don’t give me no backtalk, sucka!”…
