I wanted to dress up with my roommate so I kept looking for ideas that two guys could do. We eventually decided on the classic Napoleon Dynamite duo of Napoleon and Pedro.
I started collecting materials for my Napoleon costume from all the local Goodwills and Targets. Napoleon required really big and old-looking jeans, moon boots (very hard to find), a belt, a white T-shirt (plus letters I bought to iron on the words “vote for Pedro”), goony glasses and big hair. The costume was finished off with a droopy face and slowed speech.
It was a really simple costume to make. I also picked up an old-looking red jacket, because it was freezing outside, but it also added nicely to the costume. It was awesome; no-one had to ask who I was supposed to be and everyone said ‘hi’ to Napoleon.
