Coolest Homemade Toddler Oompa Loompa Costume

My husband and I were looking for something affordable and unique for our son at Halloween. We made him this Homemade Oompa Loompa Costume. As I am inexperienced at sewing, I just outlined a pair of pants that fit him perfectly (giving them and extra inch on each side). And used a large cup for the half moon shape in the middle of the leg.

I also dyed a shirt and a pair of socks dark brown, and painted white lines on the sleeve, collar, and socks. For the buttons I painted them brown and used blue thread to sew it on. The shoes I also used felt and outlined a pair of shoes that fit him perfectly, and used brown and white felt for the palm palms.

This was so easy and simple the only thing that would have saved time would have been a sewing machine, but as you can see, hand stitching doesn’t seem to look any different!
