Original Homemade Outhouse Costume

I originally wanted to use a refrigerator box for this Halloween but couldn’t find one in time so made a Homemade Outhouse Costume. I used a large flattened box, cut it and used packing/duct tape to get it to stay together. My favourite tool was a utility knife. It helped make the moon holes and the door.

I painted the entire thing brown and yellow for the moon. The handle was made with a couple of pipe cleaners poked through the door. Hanging on the handle is a sign that has a good outhouse quote: If you sprinkle when you tinkle, be a sweetie and wipe the seatee! The fake legs were made of pantyhose stuffed with shirts and a pair of shorts pinned to the bottom. I taped an edging of cardboard on the inside at about where I wanted my waist to be.

Another piece of cardboard was slit around the edges that I stepped through and as I pulled it up it would stop at the edges taped inside and I would tuck it into a belt to hold the whole thing up. A taped, black garbage bag hides my real legs underneath. Make sure to wear a longer shirt to make it seem like you have no pants on.

Just add a clothes peg, newspaper and a roll of toilet paper! I even did line dancing in this one! Cost : $10
