Cute Homemade Peacock Costume with Peacock Feathers

I present to you a Homemade Peacock Costume, which I made for Halloween two years ago.
I purchased a bodice and coated it with genuine blue peacock feather covered ribbons. The laces have to be loosened until the bodice, is wide enough to fit around the body. In addition I proceeded to sew in some motifs with glass beads and sequins, in order to compliment the beaded trim at the bottom of the bodice. The tail is as well made out of genuine green peacock feathers; where I used tulle to give the tail additional volume.

Furthermore I added eyes on the back of the bodice near the trim and corset laces, so that the hooks attached to the tail would effortlessly be removable from the bodice at any given moment and therefore give the costume more freedom to change it’s appearance. It was a project that I didn’t toil on consecutively, and therefore it took me a little over 3 months to complete. I invested roughly around 400$ of my own capital.

The supportive decorative art composition includes a headpiece, which was designed and executed by me, to compliment the look and give it a more authentic feel and aesthetic.
