My daughter was determined to be a peacock this year for Halloween. So after searching online for a Homemade Peacock Girl’s Halloween Costume Idea and not finding anything I liked I decided to make it myself.
To make the feathered tail I first cut out a piece of cardboard to the width of my daughters back and laced ribbon through it so she could wear it as a belt so it can easily be remove for sitting or bathroom breaks. Then I hot glued about 75 peacock feathers in a fan pattern onto the back of the cardboard. I took a old hair clip that I already had and hot glued feathers on that.
I just finished it off with a royal blue tutu and black leotard and tight.Her costume was a big hit Halloween night but best of all she loved it.
