So I was looking on here and after seeing the amazing costumes I was inspired. I knew I wanted to be something different so I decided on a homemade peacock Halloween costume idea.
I started with a half circle of cardboard and painted it shades of blue and green. Then I took 50 30″ peacock feather (purchased from e-bay) and hot glued about 25 on each side. Then I glued a piece of felt on one side (the side that would be against my back), and I glued regular green and blue feathers (from Michaels) onto the other to hide the mess of glue and tail ends. I laced ribbon through so I could tie it around my waist.
I made feather earrings, a feather necklace, and a hair piece.
I work in a school so I wore two different outfits. One G rated for school and a sexier one for a party.
The school one had a paisley top, black leggings, and black gladiator type sandals. I put two blue hair scrunchies around my ankles and a feather in each tail. Crazy eye make up and blue accessories!
The sexier one I wore a blue cocktail dress (I glued feathers to felt and safety pinned them to the breast part of the dress), fishnets, and black heels.
