I thought of making my one year old baby into the Pillsbury Dough Boy because of the cute “woo-who” sound that everyone would remember upon seeing the costume.
It was easy to make. I shaped the head like a hood, leaving room to stuff it into the round form of the dough boy. I then made an all-in-one suit with white stretchy material. I put sweats and a sweatshirt on my son to make him chubby and give him the cute belly! I shaped a piece of thin cardboard from a cereal box into a hat, and then made the hat just a bit bigger so that it would fluff out but still stand. I sewed the hat to the head just to limit the amount of pieces I would need to remember.
For the rolling pin, I used the inner cardboard of a paper-towel roll, wrapped it with brown fabric and stuffed the ends. It was very lightweight so he could hold it all day without getting tired. He carried his Homemade Pillsbury Dough Boy Costume real well, always with a smile on his face.
He is so cute! It’s a darling costume.
