Coolest Homemade Pirate Costume

It all started with my wife making me go to a “Work” pirate party, so I figured if I had to dress up I was going to use my ADHD and make the best Pirate costume there.

I did buy costumes and almost every pirate item on the web and then took pieces from each and cut apart fabrics to combine the most authentic looks. The Livingroom was a disaster for almost 3 weeks. I would watch all the Pirates of the Caribbean every night as I created the costume, or I should say costumes with as many times as I’d come up with a new idea and change everything.

I used a whole bag of 50 glue sticks as I can’t sew at all, I created the wig from five different wigs and I used 10 glue sticks just on it. I spent hours at craft stores looking thru fabrics and items, as women looked at me with wonder since I was the only man ever there.

I won a camera for first place at my wife’s work party and then Halloween came 2 months later and after another complete redo because of more ideas I thought of, my costume was done (I thought). We went to Vegas that Halloween and I must have taken over a 100 pictures with people, it was a real thrill and I’m addicted to all the attention now. I can’t wait for this Halloween and of course I have already changed the costume more for this year and I’ve had to promise my wife that I’m finished (maybe).
