For my homemade Planters Peanut Woman Costume, I cutout two peanut shapes from beige felt and attached them with fabric strips, and drew in the texture with permanent marker. I made the cane out of an old Christmas candy cane wrapped in black hockey tape.

What do you mean by you attached the peanut shapes with fabric strips?
I am guessing that the fabric strips might be strips of Velcro sewed to the sides. Cute costume. Hope this helps.
