I decided to be Rainbow Brite this year for Halloween and going through the tons of pages of lame store versions I finally realized that it would be completely better if I made my own version of a Homemade Rainbow Brite Costume.
So I went to Goodwill to find something big and blue for the dress. I ended up getting a graduation gown and cut it up in the shape of a dress and sewed that up. Then for the boots, arms, and belt I had to buy fabric from Joann’s and then from Wal-mart (I ran out of fabric).
While I was at the fabric store I was talking to the clerk about the costume and he said that there were going to be quite a few Rainbow Brite’s that year so, being crafty I decided to be Super Rainbow Bright instead. Cape and everything. The cape I made out of this great shiny blue material. Very flowy and cape like. For super rainbowness I bought rainbow knee high socks.
The Homemade Rainbow Brite Costume turned out really great and was a really big hit. Plus I had lots of fun making it.
