Coolest Homemade Sally from the Nightmare Before Christmas Costume

There is nothing better than making your own Halloween costume. I started this Sally from the Nightmare Before Christmas Costume with the fabric store and purchased some very cheap pieces of fabric that were similar in color to the ones in Sally’s costume. I then found an old dress that fit my daughter and laid it out and cut the fabric into similar pieces as on Sally’s dress.

I stitched them together and got a fabric marker and create similar markings as those found on Sally’s dress. After I finished all the sewing, I used yarn to make the bigger stitches. I attempted to make a yarn wig but that was just to much work so I bought a red one at the store. This was both less expensive and less of a headache.

My daughter loved it! I also found some of dad’s old socks and used the marker to create the strips on the socks that Sally wears! You can use panty hose for the arms and put stitches straight on them.
