This is my daughter Kinley’s Homemade Scarecrow Costume. She is a Not So Scarey Scarecrow. She wanted to be a scarecrow, but I wanted to make her something out of the norm. It was made with 20 yards of tulle, several different colors lots of ribbons, sunflowers and rafia. She even has rafia ribbon arm bands.
The crow wand is her favorite part of the costume. It’s just a crow on a dowel rod. The hat is an old one we already had. I cut the brim out and added rafia underneath so she had scarecrow hair.
She loves this costume and I really enjoyed the time we spent together on it!
The costume is perfect for little girls. It turned out BEAUTIFUL!
My almost 3 year old Princess has decided she would like a “scarecrow” party!! Random, I know but it is her birthday. I have been looking and looking on the net, trying to find something scarecrow like but beautiful at the same time and stumbled across your amazing outfit. I don’t sew but I’m going to have a go at this anyway! Gosh, I wish you were available for a sewing lesson.
Well done on such a gorgeous design. I love it.
Hi there,
Just wondering where you got the crow for the wand. It is just perfect and I have been looking everywhere and cannot locate one.
I’m thinking I might have to put a pumpkin or corn on the top! But would rather the crow.
Thanks
I love it! I am bookmarking this one for sure!
