My children dressed as Homemade Scarecrow Siblings Costumes this year. I bought overalls and plaid shirts from Yardsales, bucket hats too. I glued fabric patches on the clothes from Halloween material, and had raffia sticking out.
On my daughter’s costume I glued raffia to the sleeves and pant cuffs but on my son I thought it would be too itchy for him so I did not add this to his costume. I add sunflowers and ribbon to the hats and made the “hair” from fleece, and glued that to the hat.
I painted their faces, the total cost for 2 costumes was about $10.00.
