Coolest Homemade Scary Night Rollercoaster Costume

A lot of time and effort went into the process of this unique Homemade Scary Night Rollercoaster Costume. My sister and I watched the Halloween episode 2008 of Regis and Kelly and saw this costume and thought it was great and just had to make one of our own!

We started the venture out by going to the local hardware store and purchasing lots of PVC pipe. After lots of measuring, cutting, and gluing with special PVC glue, the frame was together. Then came the cardboard, put it on the sides, the back, the seat, (cutting holes so we could stand inside the ride) along the front and the lip for your feet. Then came the tinfoil, we used double sided sticky tape to hold the foil and the decorations in place. ( I bought colored foam, and stencils and made the ROLLERCOASTER logo and then sprinkled it with orange glitter, I used spray adhesive to get the glitter to stick.

Once that was in place, we used Gorilla duct tape to make it look realistic, and duct tape or electrical tape will do, but Gorilla is very sturdy (expensive though). We had to be harnessed into the ride with harnesses and very sturdy wire which was drilled into the PVC. Then drilled holes in the top back of ride and the crossbar and ran bungee cords through a swimming noodle to make the straps.

Lastly, was the legs, stuffed with plastic grocery bags and shoes pinned to them. Make sure to stuff them good so they stay sturdy! It was a definitely blast! I can’t wait until next year to see what we come up with! Thanks to all!
