Coolest Homemade Staples Easy Button Halloween Costume

This Homemade Staples Easy Button Halloween Costume was inspired by “Staples” easy button, a recognizable, quirky symbol of the office supply store. It wasn’t too difficult to make and the employees at Staples loved it!

How to make:
The main part was made using gray poster board and red poster board. The circles were actually cut by students in the woodshop class at the local middle school using a wood cutting saw, but they could be cut with scissors if lighter weight material was used. The front consisted of a large gray circle with a smaller red circle and paper letters glued on.

The letters were first printed off a computer to get the font just right, and then cut out with an exacto knife. The back was just a gray circle. They are connected by two pieces of thick white ribbon that rested on my shoulders. The ribbon was taped on the other side of the main pieces so that the tape could not be seen.

With the main costume finished, other touches were added, such as bright red hair ties with large paper clips (available at office stores) and pencils attached. An actual easy button was held to compare and the kind workers at our local Staples allowed me to borrow a real basket to collect candy in (it has a plastic bag attached so that mini candies would not fall through the holes!). A neutral top and red and white polka dot pajama pants completed the look.

That was easy!

Happy Halloween!

  2. I think that this is wonderful! My daughter loved it! And I think that with a little girl being the one wearing it any inappropriate innuendos should be void.

  3. Get your mind out of the gutter people. Really? It’s cute, current, and does not have a sexual undertone unless that’s where your mind resides. If you look at a picture of a little girl and that is where your mind goes you should be locked up.
