Coolest Ever Homemade Stay Puft Marshmallow Man Costume

I made this Homemade Stay Puft Marshmallow Man Costume for my son, Nathan, who is 19 months old and we really wanted him to be Stay Puft! We are both big Ghostbusters fans and couldn’t wait to see him in it, now that he was old enough to walk and endure the costume!

I made the collar and the hat completely from scratch and the body was two white stretchy tops and pants (SO hard to find white infant stretch pants), lined together and stuffed. I topped that off with white shoes and voila! Mr. Toddler Stay Puft!

He was so good the whole night, he got tons of compliments on it and people even stopped me to take his picture! One person got ME to take a picture of the two of them with their camera! I must’ve had at least 5 different people mention things like, “Wow, I didn’t see this on any website!”, or (on the cell phone) “I swear, he really is a stay puft!”. I would just nod and smile but, when I did tell people I made it, they were blown away so that tells me I did a great job! It will be hard to top this one next year but I know I can come up with something great!

  1. I could possibly make you one, I have just had another interest from parents of a 2 year old boy. I am still considering it but if you would like then post again with your contact info of some sort in the way of an e-mail or something and I can get in touch with you once I come up with a price quote and time needed. This is if I decide I can do it, I am not sure if I will have the time to tackle one let alone two! but please feel free to get me any sort of contact info, I will check back frequently.

  2. This costume is adorable, but what did you use for the stuffing? I think the rest I can figure out but curious what you used to make him plump… lol. Thanks

  3. How hot was it when you son wore the costume? Was he comfortable wearing all that stuffing? I’m in TX and it will be in the mid 80’s. My husband is going to be a ghostbuster so my son has to be Stay Puft. My fear is that he will be too hot as some of the Halloween Parties and Fall Festivals are outside.

  5. Hi there! I saw you mentioned in a previous comment that you may be willing to make this for someone? Can you let me know if you are still willing and how much? I am very interested. We saw 1 online, but is quite expensive. Trying to get our whole family ghostbusters themed costumes for a party, but trying to do it all at a reasonable rate. I would attempt to make myself but can’t sew for the life of me :)
